International business presence

A presence is what a company can demonstrate, not what it has purchased.

Dynamic Works establishes and operates the physical and functional presence international companies need in a jurisdiction: registered and business addresses, office infrastructure, mail handling, communication infrastructure and local operational capability.

The distinction

Why a registered address is not a business presence

Addresses are easy to buy and increasingly easy to see through. Banks, payment providers, registries, counterparties and tax authorities all apply some version of the same test: is there anything actually here?

An address that appears on a thousand other registrations, a phone number nobody answers, post that is never collected — each of these is a signal, and the institutions reading them have become good at it. The consequence is rarely a formal objection. It is an account application that stalls, a counterparty that goes quiet, or a registration that is queried a year later.

A functional presence is different in kind. It is an address that belongs to the company in a meaningful way, post that is handled and acted on, communication that reaches someone, and infrastructure that matches the scale of what the business claims to do.

What international business presence covers

Step 01

Registered and business addresses

Addresses suitable for registration and for ongoing business use, appropriate to the jurisdiction and to the company's activity.

Step 02

Office infrastructure

Workspace and office facilities where the business requires them, scaled to actual operational needs rather than to appearances.

Step 03

Mail handling

Receipt, sorting, scanning, forwarding and escalation of correspondence, including the official post that carries deadlines.

Step 04

Communication infrastructure

Local telephone and communication arrangements where the business needs to be reachable in the jurisdiction.

Step 05

Local operational presence

Practical, on-the-ground capability in the market, coordinated by people who are actually there.

Step 06

Documentation support

The documentation that evidences the presence when a bank, authority or counterparty asks for it.

Step 07

Business continuity

Arrangements that keep the presence functioning when the client is elsewhere, which for cross-border businesses is most of the time.

Engagement

How a business presence engagement works

We start with what the presence has to withstand. A holding company with no employees, a trading company opening a bank account, and an operating subsidiary with local staff have very different requirements, and providing all three with the same package serves none of them.

From there we set up the address, infrastructure and handling processes, document them so they can be evidenced, and operate them continuously. Post is handled the same week it arrives, not the same quarter.

What Dynamic Works does not do in business presence

Dynamic Works provides operational presence infrastructure. Whether a given presence satisfies a specific legal, tax or substance test in a particular jurisdiction is a legal and tax question, and one for licensed professionals. We coordinate with them, and we will say plainly when a requested arrangement is unlikely to withstand the scrutiny it will face.
